Founded in Sylhet and introduced with a debut presentation in Dhaka, Bangladesh, One Thousand Poets
has carried poetry at its core from the very beginning. Anything can become a poem: the fall of
fabric, the trace of movement, the intimacy of friction between cloth and skin. A garment offers an
identity of its own, yet it is never complete until worn. The wearer brings their presence, history,
and emotion to it — creating a unique dialogue every time it is worn. We do not refer to those who
wear our work as clients, but as participatory audience. We approach design as interaction. One
Thousand Poets creates garments for those seeking a synthesis of identity, feeling, and form —
where stepping into a piece is not just dressing, but unfolding a side of yourself.
The name itself speaks to a community in formation. Imagining the resonance of a room filled with a
thousand poets, each humming from within in unison, we aim to become a vessel for that collective
voice — a space where clothing becomes conversation, and fashion moves beyond aesthetics into
reflection, awareness, and presence. What began locally has now reached an international audience,
including a presentation of the second collection in Paris, reflecting the ongoing evolution of our
practice. We are now preparing a semi-annual editorial journal, inviting thinkers, artists, and
makers from around the world who approach fashion as philosophy — a space where garments are not
simply seen, but felt.
One Thousand Poets exists to transform fashion into a living dialogue — a journey that began with a
few words, continues through every creation, and reaches its meaning as you become the last stitch.
